The Day After Tomorrow (aka Into Infinity)

The Day After Tomorrow, otherwise known as Into Infinity is a 1975 TV special produced by Gerry Anderson and it came in between the two seasons of his series Space 1999.
In fact the main cast of The Day After Tomorrow includes Nick Tate, a principal cast member of Space 1999.
Set in the future as it tells the story of the interstellar mission of Altares, a science vessel featuring a human crew to find a new home in the Alpha Centauri as Earth’s survival is under threat from environmental damage.
However the Altares encounters problems resulting them in another universe.
An intriguing piece from the worlds of Gerry Anderson and this was intended as a pilot for a TV series, a TV series that unfortunately never materialises.
It would have been curious where it would went to from there.
