The CW (US Cable Network)

The CW has made two pilot pickups.

Life Sentence takes place when a young woman (Hale) diagnosed with terminal cancer finds out that she’s not dying after all and has to learn to live with the choices she made when she decided to “live like she was dying.”

Insatiable centres on a disgraced, dissatisfied civil lawyer turned beauty pageant coach who takes on a vengeful, bullied teenager as his client and has no idea what he’s about to unleash upon the world.

The Dynasty modernised reboot follows two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children. The drama will be told primarily through the perspectives of two women at odds: Fallon Carrington — daughter of billionaire Blake Carrington — and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal, a Hispanic woman marrying into this WASPy family and America’s most powerful class.

In an age where dynasties appear everywhere — from reality TV to the polling booths — this epic drama features the one percent in all its glitz and gloss, while exposing the dark underbelly: a corrupt world built on backroom deals, betrayal and, in some cases, murder.

Searchers follows a group of unlikely heroes and takes place 10 years after the death of their parents, when a pragmatic brother and free-spirited sister are forced to team when they learn that their mother’s terrifying and bizarre stories may be a road map to discovering the legends, myths and unexplainable mysteries of the world.

Valor. The boundaries between military discipline and human desire are tested on a U.S. Army base that houses an elite unit of helicopter pilots trained to perform clandestine international and domestic missions. The drama unfolds in the present as well as in flashbacks to a failed mission involving one of the first female pilots in the unit, ultimately uncovering layers of personal and government/military secrets, and leading to a season-long plan to rescue a group of MIA soldiers.

The CW has ordered Valor and Dynasty to series.

Valor is a military thriller which focuses on a pair of elite helicopter pilots who uncover a twisted secret about a botched mission to Somalia that left American servicemen in enemy hands.

Dynasty 2.0 is described as a racially diverse, modernized modernized reboot of the classic ’80s soap “that follows two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children,” as told “primarily through the perspectives of two women at odds: Blake’s (Grant Show) daughter Fallon Carrington (Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll‘s Elizabeth Gillies) and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal (Vampire Diaries‘ Nathalie Kelley), a Hispanic woman marrying into this WASP family and America’s most powerful class.”

The series promises to expose the “dark underbelly” of the 1 percent, “a corrupt world built on backroom deals, betrayal, and, in some cases, murder.”

Black Lightning and Life Sentence are going to series.

Black Lightning centres on Jefferson Pierce. He made his choice: He hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter, Jennifer hellbent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend Black Lightning.

Life Sentence centres on a young woman diagnosed with terminal cancer. When she finds out that she’s not dying after all, she has to learn to live with the choices she made when she decided to “live like she was dying.”
