The Current War

The Current War is a movie that was first released at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017 before its first general release in theatres in the US on October 25, 2019.
The Current War is about the 19th-century competition between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse over which electric power delivery system would be used in the United States.
The current in the title therefore refers to electric power.
Enjoyable as it was interesting to see this war between Edison and Westinghouse.
It was especially very nice to see Tuppence Middleton who played Edison’s wife Mary.
As well as Edison (Benedict Cumberbatch) it also has a portrayal of Nikola Tesla (played by the similarly named Nicholas Hoult) and it detailed the latter’s employment by the former.
In a curious coincidence almost four months after The Current War’s US release came on January 19 2020, Doctor Who: Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror which too had a portrayal of Tesla (Goran Višnjić) and Edison (Robert Glenister) and set after the said employment.
In fact the last we see of Tesla at Niagara Falls which is exactly where we first see him in the Doctor Who episode.
So the Doctor Who episode unintentionally became the direct sequel/follow-up to The Current War.
