Holiday (1938)

Released in 1938, Holiday stars Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant.
This is a remake of the movie of the same name from eight years earlier in 1930.
It even has one cast member playing the same character in both movies with Edward Everett Horton playing Professor Nick Potter.
This is the third of four movies that paired Hepburn and Grant together and with the exception of Bringing Up Baby, also released in 1938, all Hepburn-Grant movies were directed by George Cukor.
Grant plays a self made man who is engaged to the sister of the Hepburn character.
During the course of the film it becomes apparent the way Grant has lived his life is not conducive to the lifestyle of his would-be wife who is in a rich family and is at odds on this with his would-be father-in-law.
It becomes apparent that the Grant character is more suited to the Hepburn character as her ideals does not match that of her father’s.
Enjoyable how all this was delivered at the end.
