Network Ten Announces New Advertising Sales Department.

Ten

Network Ten today announced the establishment of a new Advertising Sales department, headed by Rod Prosser in the role of Chief Sales Officer.

Mr Prosser, currently Network Ten’s Executive General Manager, Revenue and Client Partnerships, will report to Network Ten Chief Executive Officer, Paul Anderson.

This follows today’s announcement that Network Ten’s Sales representation agreement with Multi Channel Network (MCN) will cease after a transition period. MCN will continue to receive sales bookings for Network Ten until the end of 2018.

Network Ten and MCN will work together in the coming months to implement an orderly disengagement process. In the meantime, business will continue as usual. Further updates will be provided jointly by Network Ten and MCN in due course.

Mr Anderson said: “Today is a significant day in Network Ten’s history, as we continue to build and invest in our business.

“Under new ownership, we are making a strategic shift in Sales to more closely align with CBS across all platforms. Our priority is to monetise our premium video content to accommodate changing viewing habits and provide measurable and transparent value for our clients. Controlling the selling function in-house is the best way to achieve that.

“CBS has solutions, experience and systems in many key sales areas, including data, addressable advertising and dynamic trading. Ten’s new Sales platform will fully leverage the expertise of CBS.

“MCN has been a valuable and important partner to Network Ten over the past three years. Together we have achieved some great results and introduced many industry-leading initiatives. I would like to thank everyone at MCN for their contribution to our business,” he said.

“As we’ve said since the announcement of the acquisition, we see many ways for CBS and TEN to work together to help grow their business,” said Armando Nuñez, President and Chief Executive Officer, CBS Studios International. “We look forward to integrating infrastructure, technology and other CBS resources to enhance TEN’s new sales operation and bring value to Australian advertisers and brands.”

The Network Ten Sales department will include a new digital unit, TEN Interactive, which will be underpinned by CBS Interactive’s global technology platform, as well as a new commercial, strategy and integration team focused on delivering premium ideas, sponsorships and integration opportunities across the company’s suite of brands.

Network Ten will also launch a new automated trading platform, TEN Exchange.

How long before CBS step in to take full control of this? Seems like nothing can them currently.

Summer Sparkles On TEN

Sizzling Summer Nights With Dancing With The Stars, Chris & Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway, Changing Rooms And Much More.

Ten WIN

The New Year’s hangover has faded. The Christmas tree is back in its box. The last of the leftover Christmas ham is done and dusted. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty more to celebrate and enjoy with the family at the start of the new year, as TEN delivers a feast of big entertainment for summer and the first quarter of 2019.

The tasty new line-up includes Dancing With The Stars, Chris & Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway and Changing Rooms . Is there more? Yes, of course there is. Catch jungle fever with the wild new season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! and feel the love with another round of Bachelor In Paradise .

And that is just the start. The line-up will also include all-new episodes of The Project, The Living Room, Pointless , Hughesy We Have A Problem, Show Me The Movie! and more.

The shiny new summer and first-quarter smorgasbord kicks off during the first half of January 2019 and runs until the king of cooking – MasterChef Australia – returns for a delicious 11th season.

Network Ten Chief Executive Officer, Paul Anderson, said: “We told you we were committed to investing in original local content with broad appeal and we weren’t lying.

“Australians want local stories and local content. That’s why we have launched more than a dozen new domestic shows this year across multiple genres, and the new content we are revealing today for 2019 will build on that momentum.

“Ten has always been different. Without summer sport, we now have an incredible line-up of new and returning entertainment favourites that are perfect for LIVE family viewing – as we promised!,” he said.

Network Ten Chief Content Officer, Beverley McGarvey, said: “Today’s announcement is a key part of our plan to give viewers and advertisers 50 weeks of first-run, locally-produced shows every year.

“Our summer and first-quarter content has something for the whole family and will offer a compelling alternative to what else is on offer.

“We are thrilled to introduce the new-look Dancing With The Stars . Hosting duties will be superbly handled by Amanda Keller and Grant Denyer and this show will certainly add a little sparkle to your summer evenings in a dazzling live entertainment event,” she said.

Changing Rooms is the show that reinvented the renovation genre on television and we are going to take it to a new level with multiple room reveals in every single episode.

“And in more good news, Julia and Chris will return to the jungle for the new special event season of the LIVE family entertainment hit I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! ,” Ms McGarvey said.

“When they have finished tormenting celebrities in Africa they will return to Australia as the fun continues with an Aussie spin on the UK smash hit family entertainment show – Chris & Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway – which will be the perfect mix of laughs, chaos and unpredictable live fun.

“And Osher will be back with a second season of the TV and social hit Bachelor In Paradise , wrangling a new line-up of some of our most memorable Bachelor and Bachelorette stars as they seek a second or even a third chance to find their Mr or Ms Right.”

Network Ten Chief Sales Officer, Rod Prosser, said: “We know Aussies love entertainment television and this summer, we’re kicking off a schedule which will give advertisers more opportunities than ever to engage with our shows and audiences.

“There is a huge untapped opportunity for brands to integrate into premium entertainment shows over summer and we are filling this gap with the launch of Chris & Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway , Dancing With The Stars and Changing Rooms, plus the new seasons of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! and Bachelor In Paradise . We’re going big with these highly-integratable formats across all our platforms and can’t wait to share them with audiences.”

It’s 10, But Not As You Know It

3b43a861d7cadfd39ffbda660abc1b491b3f3b11

Say hello to a bigger, brighter Network 10.

In 2019, 10 will be home to 13 new Australian shows, countless new shows from overseas, three of the biggest sporting events in Australia and some of the biggest Australian shows that get people talking.

Cooking, dancing, dating, surviving, renovating, laughing, crying, learning, racing – Network 10 will deliver first-run, locally-produced content across 50 weeks of the year from mid-January right through to Christmas.

Network 10 Chief Content Officer, Beverley McGarvey, said: “We are ready to deliver a slate of new and returning hit shows that build on the success we’ve had this year and get to consumers wherever they are, whenever they want to watch.

“This year we successfully launched a number of new brands with excellent growth potential, including Bachelor In Paradise and Ambulance Australia , and we saw great growth with shows like Have You Been Paying Attention? , The Bachelor Australia and Australian Survivor recording their biggest audiences to date.

“We’ve had record-breaking catch-up numbers on 10 Play, with all of our major shows recording their highest video views ever. We also launched 10 Daily to a brilliant start. It is growing every month, with over 1.04 million visits in September alone,” she said.

“Next year we will strengthen our position as leaders in escapist entertainment AND we’ll have differentiated flagship content targeting people under 50s, 50 weeks a year, starting right now across all our platforms.

“We will also have more brilliant catch-up and bespoke long-form content for 10 Play and will continue to grow 10 Daily with a range of brilliant pieces and video content from our marquee talent and the brilliant 10 Daily team,” she said.

“And we’re getting into the fast-growing and commercially-maturing podcast business with 10 Speaks, which will include great 10 content plus bespoke, original content. More detail about 10 Speaks will surface next year.”

The new Network 10 year kicks off in mid-January with a supercharged season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! , as Julia Morris and Chris Brown step back into the jungle to taunt and terrify a whole new collection of celebrities.

Supercharged? Indeed. Next year will bring a new Saturday night I’m A Celebrity show, live streaming on 10 All Access, more bespoke content for 10 Play, a massive marketing blitz – and much more.

There will be no rest for Chris and Julia: as soon as the King or Queen of The Jungle is crowned, the good doctor and his muse will be whisked home to present Chris & Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway on, yes, Sunday nights.

Based on the smash hit UK format, Chris & Julia’s Sunday Night Takeaway has it all: entertainment, heart, surprises, celebrities, mountains of prizes. It’s “family entertainment” that will actually grab the whole family and keep them glued to their couches.

The top of the year will also see Dancing With The Stars twirl its way onto 10. Fronted by Amanda Keller and Grant Denyer, 10’s version of this global TV powerhouse will mix celebrities, sequins and stardust to create a show that will be fresh and engaging, while staying true to everything people loved about Dancing With The Stars .

Also waiting in the wings for the start of 2019 is Changing Rooms , hosted by Natalie Bassingthwaighte. The show that started the television renovation revolution and got Australians hooked on room makeovers and reveals is getting the 10 makeover, with more room reveals, big characters and a lot of inspiration.

Australia’s favourite bachelors and bachelorettes will be brought together on a tropical island for the second season of Bachelor In Paradise . It was one of the noisiest and most successful new TV shows of 2018 and the next instalment will deliver more drama, more romance and more tropical locations.

The first part of next year will also bring a strong line-up of proven local hits, including new seasons of Gogglebox (which will have two runs in 2019), Dave Hughes’ Hughesy, We Have A Problem and Rove McManus’ Show Me The Movie! .

Amanda, Chris, Barry Du Bois and Miguel Maestre will be back on the couch in April for another season of The Living Room , the heroes of Bondi Beach are back for more Bondi Rescue and there will be a second season of our heart-racing new hit Ambulance Australia .

After a decade on air, The Project continues to break news, make news and entertain and inform Australians in its own unique way – six nights a week. This year, 10 will roll out the biggest marketing campaign it has ever put behind a single program to spread the word about The Project .

As part of our new look, TEN Eyewitness News First At Five is being reborn as 10 News First, embracing the proud heritage of First at Five, while promising to deliver news and information first, when and where people want it. Studio 10 also has a new look and will continue to brighten mornings every weekday.

When winter starts to roll in, it’s time for MasterChef Australia . The show that made “plating up” part of the vernacular returns for its 11th season and it’s going to be delicious.

Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston will be back at the helm, joined by three new mentors (and MasterChef Australia alumni) Poh Ling Yeow, Billie McKay and Matt Sinclair. And the kitchen will be crammed with a dazzling array of international and local cooking stars, including the incomparable Nigella Lawson.

Soon after MasterChef Australia bubbles back on to screens, audiences will say hello to the new seasons of Have You Been Paying Attention? and Todd Sampson’s BodyHack .

Around the same time, four of the shows that were tested during Pilot Week this year will resurface as full series: Kinne Tonight , Taboo , Trial By Kyle and Bring Back Saturday Night with Rove McManus.

The line-up for the second half of 2019 includes the return of Australian Survivor Champions Vs Contenders and The Bachelor Australia , both of which delivered their biggest numbers ever across all screens this year.

Right now, the line-up on 10 includes The Bachelorette Australia , Playing For Keeps , Game Of Games with Grant Denyer and Julia Morris’ Blind Date . Very soon Pete Helliar and Lisa McCune’s warm and funny show How To Stay Married and the compelling doco series The Secret Life Of 4 Year Olds will join the schedule.

Drama is part of 10’s DNA. Next year the network will add three new local dramas: Five Bedrooms , the story of five very different people who meet on the singles’ table at a wedding and decide to buy a house together; My Life Is Murder with the iconic Lucy Lawless as Alexa Crowe, a brilliant, insightful, and completely-without-filter investigator; and The Secrets She Keeps , a dark tale of two women from very different walks of life who have one thing in common – explosive secrets that could destroy their lives.

And not forgetting comedy, Mr Black , a comedy series written by Adam Zwar and starring Stephen Curry and Nadine Garner, will also premiere on the network.

Next year sees the return of overseas favourites including NCIS , Bull , The Graham Norton Show and Jamie Oliver’s new series. They will be joined by two of the most talked about shows of the new TV season in the US, Murphy Brown with Candice Bergen and The Conners with John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert.

Also coming to 10 from across the seas is The Gilded Age , the hotly-anticipated new show from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes. Set in the boom years of 1880s New York City, The Gilded Age promises all the heart, style, wit and drama that made Downton Abbey a global smash.

10 All Access will launch in December and will offer more than 7,000 commercial-free episodes at launch. This will include the debut of three exciting CBS All Access original series in Australia – Tell Me A Story , One Dollar and Strange Angel – as well as the first season of CBS All Access’ The Good Fight .

Set in modern day New York City, Tell Me A Story takes much-loved fairy tales and twists them into a dark psychological thriller. Season one weaves The Three Little Pigs , Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel And Gretel into a story of murder, greed, love and revenge. Strange? Yes. Compelling view? Absolutely.

At launch, 10 All Access will also be giving Australian fans access to new CBS primetime series months before they air on Network 10, including the highly-anticipated new series Happy Together as well as new seasons of current hits like MacGyver .

In addition, 10 All Access’ library will include current shows, past seasons and classic TV hits from Network 10 and CBS such as CBS hits The Good Wife, NCIS, Frasier, Cheers and Survivor , as well as Australian favourites like Neighbours, The Bachelor Australia, The Bachelorette Australia, The Living Room and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.

Sport is a big part of 10 line-up for 2019, with three of the races that transfix the nation on 10: the Melbourne Cup Carnival , Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and the Formula 1 2019 Australian Grand Prix .

Network 10’s landmark agreement with the Victoria Racing Club will change forever how the Melbourne Cup Carnival is seen by Australians.

All the thrills and excitement of the Melbourne Cup Carnival story will live on Network 10 across the entire year and will be showcased in new ways across various platforms, including those of 10’s parent company CBS.

The agreement comprises a suite of Melbourne Cup Carnival media rights, including free to air TV, internet, social media, mobile, OTT (Over-The-Top) and HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV). The thrills and excitement of the Carnival will live on Network 10 across the entire year and will be showcased in new ways across our various platforms, including CBS platforms.

And let’s not forget the other great sport on Network 10 in 2019, including Rugby , A-League and the MotoGP World Championship.
