Katter party says it's registered

Bob Katter's party has been registered as a political party in Queensland under the name Katter's Australian Party.

A statement from the party yesterday afternoon announced the registration with the Electoral Commission of Queensland, three days after Queensland Party member Jason Somerville lodged an objection against it.

The parties have been bickering publicly since The Queensland Party's former leader and only sitting member, state MP Aidan McLindon, announced last month that the two would merge.
