Brisbane's new Clem-7 tunnel has claimed its first victims: River 949 and 101FM.
The Ipswich-based River, which is heard clearly across southern Queensland and west to Toowoomba, and community station 101FM cannot be heard by motorists in the underground motorway, despite all other AM and FM stations being added by the Rivercity Motorway Group.
River's Program Director Mike Byrne said listeners have complained to the station.
Station boss David Greenwood is confident the issue is soon to be resolved, with sources claiming River will be heard in the tunnel within days.
River's Drive announcer Jay Goldman says he is upset for his listeners as they are unable to hear the best songs from the 70s to today, local news and information and his superb jokes.
"I don't know what people will do without my one-liners to get them through the long drive home" Goldman told
