GO! adds news updates through the day

GO! will add "newsbursts" across the day utilising younger Nine News journalists.

"It's great to be giving on-air opportunities to some of the talented young journalists we have in our newsroom," Nine director of News Mark Calvert told The Diary.

No on-air date has been announced.

The Nine GO! Network today launches its first locally produced content in the form of GO! news updates.

GO! newsbursts will be scheduled four times each weekday at 3.30pm, 5.00pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm. Devina Smith be the first host for the news service.

Each week GO! will rotate the hosting duties among the younger journalists from the Nine newsroom.

Mark Calvert, Nine’s Director of News and Current Affairs, said: “We’re excited to be bringing GO! viewers regular bursts of news. And it’s great to be giving on-air opportunities to some of the talented young journalists we have in our newsroom.”

Les Sampson, Nine’s Director of Acquisitions, said: “News has always been an important part of the Nine Network’s strategy so it’s only natural that we would introduce regular newsbursts for the younger demographic watching GO!”
