Ok, don't get me wrong - this is more then a worthwhile cause however is anybody else feeling like they are by the wall to wall media coverage of this disaster being made to think that they should be donating more money then they already have?

I must admit, until today I hadnt made a donation (a number of personal reasons and the difficulty choosing a charity had a impact) and it doesnt make me feel any better because I truly believe that there is little that money can do at the moment (i would rather make a donation to something that is going to make a significant impact on how situations in the future are handled, such as a Tsunami warning system like Japan has).

Feel free to tear strips off me - but im guessing that in some respects im not alone...

I had this debate last night, i am sick of the coverage, it happened yes, sad yes but the news networks are pushing it into peoples brains hard and that annoys me.

I gave money last night as the pub we went to took donations as a cover charge

150,000 people died, that is why it is one of the big news stories of the last decade, after this is all done more austrlians would die from this then the bali tragedy. But also you shouldn't have to donate money if you don't want to

Just my opinion

shouldn't this thread have been in the "What Cheeses me off" section?
