Same problem here
Foxtel Satellite, Melbourne
The search function has been removed for the moment from all boxes due to an instability in the iQ1. The source of the problem is still under investigation I am told, but it appears that the only way the Nov 15 launches of new channels could be progressed was to remove the A-Z search completely.
At this stage, there is no resolution I am told, and the A-Z will not return until the iQ1 can be made stable with that function.
This issue exists regardless of Cable or Satellite or location.
Previously (over the last few years), the A-Z had been cut back from 7 days schedule to 3 days, then to 2 days, again due to instability issues in the STB fleet. Once it got to 3 days, it was completely useless to me so I never used it since.
As a work around if you have an iPhone you can use the brand new Foxtel iPhone application. If you have remote record setup you can even schedule records with it. Its like have a very smart remote.
