Freeview label on some Digital Set Top Boxes

I've notices some of the new Digital Set Top Boxes have a big 'Freeviw' lable on them and a feature is "Freeview EPG'.

A couple of questions

1. Is that all the 'Freeview' box adds, an EPG?

2. What does the 'Freeview EPG' do for you, is it like the Foxtel EPG, can you do Series Links?

No and No

ACMA have come out and said that the EPG must be available for all - not those with specalised hardware. The Freeview EPG is supposed to be a little more interactive then using it through the hardware means.

The only product that can do 'Series Links' out of the box is TiVo through Season Pass

Freeview decoders will also be MPEG4 compatible.
