FOXTEL today announced its best ever offer for the FOXTEL iQ personal video recorder – making the iQ free to install and free to use for 12 months from the date you join FOXTEL.

FOXTEL’s Chief Executive Officer Mr Kim Williams said: “Today, more than ever consumers are looking to the home as their entertainment centre. FOXTEL’s new iQ offer responds to the times with a strong value message which follows close attention to what consumers are thinking and saying they want from television. The iQ is the ultimate way to enjoy the choice of FOXTEL’s more than 150 channels.”

The FOXTEL iQ transforms television viewing by enabling subscribers to easily record their favourite programs; pause, fast-forward and rewind any program; and use the remarkable “series link” function which remembers your commands and automatically records every episode of your favourite shows in full digital quality.

In addition to the free installation and free iQ for 12 months offer, FOXTEL today announced an accompanying new offer for its High Definition television iQ2 service, delivering its breakthrough HD channel service free for 7 months.

And they continue to **** over those of us who got in early on the iQ and were forced into the $395 up front. Now they are offering it free.

After recently discovering the quality of some of the free tv sites available on the internet, changing to an isp with a massive download quantity and ditching foxtel is looking like a much better option.

Western Digital have just released a HD STB that allows you to plug a hard drive or usb key into it and watch downloaded content directly onto your tv. The reviews of this device are really good.

My parents tried to get this deal even though they are out of contract. They got told they would have to disconnect first, then they may not get it back for 2 months.
