A German couple face charges after setting up a loudspeaker and timer with the sound of a crowing rooster to blast their neighbours every morning and then leaving for a holiday.
Police in the northern town of Itzehoe obtained a warrant to enter the house after receiving several complaints and discovered speakers aimed at the neighbours, rigged to a timer.
They say the system automatically switched on between 2.00am and 4.00am, and produced a rooster crowing sound at volume for 20 minutes with breaks in between.
Police confiscated the gear and have charged the holidaymakers with bodily harm and disturbing the peace.
The couple remain on holidays.
