Macquarie Radio’s Chief Executive Officer, Angela Clark announced Monday that 2GB will continue their exclusive NRL radio coverage in 2005 for the sixth year running.
“We are enormously proud of our six-year partnership with the NRL. It is a property that adds another dimension to our diverse audience, as well as providing our clients with an ideal vehicle for connecting with younger male listeners,” Clark said.
In 2004, radio 2GB’s NRL coverage outperformed all other key commercial stations against Men 18-39 in 2004 with a 21.3% share*. In total, the average audience grew 20% year on year from 2003*, going from strength to strength.
Australia’s number one sports broadcaster Ray Hadley has confirmed he will return to head up the Continuous Call Team again in 2005 for both the Saturday and Sunday shows.
Commenting on the announcement, Ray Hadley said, “Singo has given me an extra hour sleep-in on the weekdays, so I'm ready and raring to spend my weekends with my old mates Steven Blocker Roach and Bob Fulton doing what we’ve done best for many years – putting the fun into the football."
Along with Andrew Moore, Tony Megahey and a host of other team members, the Continuous Call Team will be on air on Saturdays and Sundays at midday from March, calling a game each and every Saturday night along with Sunday’s Match of the Day.
“The Continuous Call team takes the excitement and passion of the Telstra Premiership into thousands of homes every weekend and we’re looking forward to another excellent season working with 2GB.
“They bring the matches to life for people who can’t get to the game and are a valued part of the Rugby League community,” said Paul Kind, NRL Director Marketing & Commercial.
